Matters needing attention when laying out the anchor chain drum

When arranging the chain drums, the following needs to be considered:
1) When the anchor is dropped, it can rely on the weight of the anchor to be thrown out of the hawser without hindrance.
2) When the anchor is lifted, under the pulling force of the anchor chain, the anchor stem can be smoothly pulled into the anchor chain drum without being hindered.
3) The position of the side chain hole should be a sufficient distance above the water surface, otherwise it will cause splashing of water and increase the resistance of the ship.
4) When the anchor is lifted, even if the ship is inclined about 5 degrees to the other side, the anchor claw will not be stuck on the stem or keel.
5) After the anchor stem is pulled into the chain drum, its anchor claw should be able to be close to the ship's outer plate, and the anchor head should be close to the flange.

6) The hawse tube should be of sufficient length to accommodate at least all the anchor shafts, and it is usually required to include the hawse swivel together.
